Privacy policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Njord Gear LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("Njord Gear," "we," "us"), collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit njordgearco.com or njord-gear.com, buy from us, contact us, or sign up for our emails or texts (together, the "Services"). It also explains your privacy rights, including the rights that California and other U.S. state laws give you.
This policy doesn't cover data collected through a smartwatch companion app. That data is governed by the app's own privacy notice.
1. Information we collect
We collect the categories below. The examples in parentheses use the category names from California law.
- Identifiers and contact information (identifiers; customer records): name, email, phone number, billing and shipping address, account login, order number.
- Payment information (customer records): payment card or wallet details. Payments are handled by Shopify and our payment providers. We don't store full card numbers.
- Commercial information: products viewed, added to cart and purchased; returns, warranty and protection-plan claims; discounts used.
- Internet and device activity: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site and search terms, clicks, time on page, and cookie and pixel identifiers.
- Approximate location (geolocation): country, region or city inferred from your IP address. We don't collect precise geolocation through the Services.
- Communications and content: messages to our support team, reviews, photos and videos you submit, survey answers, and call or chat records.
- Inferences: preferences and interests drawn from the information above, used for marketing and to improve the Services.
Sensitive personal information. The only sensitive personal information we receive through the Services is account login credentials and payment card details. We use them only to provide the Services, process payments and prevent fraud, as California law allows. We don't use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. We don't collect consumer health data through the Services.
2. Where we get it
- From you, when you order, create an account, sign up for emails or texts, contact us, leave a review or take a survey.
- Automatically, through cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies on the Services.
- From service providers and partners, such as payment processors, shipping carriers, our returns and review platforms, and advertising partners (for example, data about which ad you clicked).
3. How we use it
- To process and ship orders, handle returns, warranty and protection-plan claims, and send order updates.
- To give customer support and respond to requests.
- To send marketing emails and texts you've signed up for, and to show you ads on other sites and apps.
- To measure and improve the Services, including analytics, site testing and fixing errors.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To comply with the law, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect our rights.
4. How we disclose it
We disclose personal information to:
- Service providers that process it for us under contract: Shopify (store hosting and checkout), payment processors and buy-now-pay-later providers, our warehouse and shipping carriers, our email and SMS platform, returns, reviews and customer-support tools, site testing and analytics tools, and security tools such as CAPTCHA.
- Advertising and analytics partners such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google, TikTok and Microsoft (Bing). They receive device and activity data through pixels and tags so they can measure our ads and show you relevant ads. Under California and some other state laws, this can count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising or a "sale." See Section 6 to opt out.
- Legal and safety recipients, when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Njord Gear, our customers or others.
- A business buyer or successor, if we're involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. That buyer must keep honoring this policy.
We don't sell personal information for money. We don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

5. Cookies, pixels and similar technologies
We and our partners use cookies, pixels, tags and SDKs to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how people use the Services, test site changes, and run and measure ads. You can control cookies through your browser settings and our cookie banner where it appears. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Services work. To learn more about interest-based ads, visit optout.aboutads.info or youradchoices.ca.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). We treat a GPC signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising, for that browser and any account we can link to it.
Do Not Track. There's no common standard for browser "Do Not Track" signals, so we don't respond to them. We do honor GPC as described above.

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and other states with consumer privacy laws have the rights below, subject to legal exceptions. We extend these rights to all U.S. customers.

- Portability: get a copy of your personal information in a portable format.

How to use your rights
- Opt out of sale, sharing and targeted ads: click the "Your Privacy Choices" / "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in our site footer, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, or email us.
- Access, deletion, correction or portability: email contact@njord-gear.com with the subject "Privacy Request," or call +1 (438) 940-2584.
We'll verify your request by matching information you give us (such as your email and a recent order number) with our records. We'll confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll tell you why, and we may take up to 45 more days where the law allows. You may make access and portability requests free of charge at least twice in any 12-month period.
Authorized agents. You can use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We may ask for signed written permission and may ask you to verify your identity directly with us, unless the agent has a valid power of attorney.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing contact@njord-gear.com with the subject "Privacy Appeal" within 60 days. We'll answer within 60 days (45 days in some states) and explain our decision. If you're still unhappy, you can contact your state Attorney General.
California "Shine the Light"
California residents can ask once a year for a list of the third parties we disclosed personal information to for their own direct marketing in the prior calendar year. Email us with the subject "Shine the Light." We don't currently make these disclosures.
Nevada
Nevada residents can opt out of the sale of covered information by emailing us. We don't sell covered information as Nevada law defines it.
7. Notice of financial incentive
From time to time we may offer a discount, free gift, entry into a giveaway, or referral reward in exchange for your email, phone number or a referral (a "Program"). The terms of each Program are shown when you join. We value the personal information we collect through a Program at roughly the value of the reward offered, based on what we expect to spend on and earn from marketing to subscribers. Joining is optional. You can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing from emails, replying STOP to texts, or emailing us.
8. Email and text messages
Email. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email. We'll still send transactional emails about your orders.
Text messages. If you sign up for texts, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing and cart-reminder messages from Njord Gear at the number you provide. Consent isn't a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel and HELP for help. You'll receive one message confirming your opt-out. We don't sell or share your mobile number or text-message consent with third parties for their own marketing. We share it only with our SMS provider and carriers to deliver messages.
9. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above:
- Order, payment and tax records: 7 years, for tax and accounting.
- Account, warranty and protection-plan records: while your account, warranty or plan is active, plus 3 years.

We keep information longer only when the law requires it or to resolve disputes.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
11. Children
The Services are for adults and aren't directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in some states). We don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child gave us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
12. Canada
We process the personal information of Canadian residents in line with PIPEDA and applicable provincial laws, including Quebec's Law 25. You may ask to access, correct or withdraw consent to the use of your personal information, and, in Quebec, to have it de-indexed or ported. Our Privacy Officer is responsible for protecting personal information and can be reached at contact@njord-gear.com (subject: "Privacy Officer"). You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, to the Commission d'accès à l'information.
13. International transfers
We're based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the U.S., Canada and other countries. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information to perform our contract with you, with your consent (for marketing and non-essential cookies), and for our legitimate interests in running and improving our business. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for transfers.
